Description
Background
The City of Canton is issuing a solicitation for the STA-4th Street Southeast project, which involves the rehabilitation of the 4th Street Southeast bridge over the east branch of the Nimishillen Creek. The goal of this contract is to provide construction inspection and administration services to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations during the project.
Work Details
The contractor will provide Construction Inspection and Construction Administration services, which include:
- Repairing superstructure members
- Abutment repairs
- Constructing a new reinforced concrete deck
Additional work includes minor roadway approach tasks such as concrete approach slabs, sidewalks, pavement replacement to meet existing roadway conditions, and any associated utility work including grading, drainage, and traffic control. The estimated construction cost for this project is $1,695,008. The consultant must also ensure compliance with EEO requirements and monitor payrolls. Specific personnel required include Project Structure Inspector, Coatings Inspector, Soils and Aggregate Inspector, Construction Engineer Level 1 & 2, and a Construction Management Firm. The consultant will be responsible for daily field engineering and inspection as well as materials management in accordance with ODOT specifications.
Period of Performance
The anticipated project construction is expected to begin in June 2026 and be completed by November 2027. The selected consultant is expected to be authorized to proceed by April 2026.
