MCI/DYS Paving Project DRCB-25-3411

Background
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is the largest agency in Ohio and operates the fifth largest prison system in the nation. ODRC's mission is to reduce recidivism among those it serves. The agency is seeking bids for an asphalt paving project at the Marion Correctional Institution/Department of Youth Services (MCI/DYS) located at 332 Marion Williamsport Rd, Marion, OH 43302. This project aims to repair all asphalt areas within the facility.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for milling and paving a total area of 34,030 square yards to a depth of 4 inches. Specific tasks include:

1) Milling pavement to a depth of 4 inches and disposing of the material off-site;

2) Furnishing and compacting 1.5 inches of #448 Type 2 asphalt using an 8-ton roller;

3) Applying .10 gallons per square yard of RS-2 liquid asphalt;

4) Surfacing with 1.5 inches of compacted #448 Type 1 asphalt using both 10-ton and 12-ton rollers;

5) Painting stripes to match existing markings.

The entire job must be completed by June 30, 2025.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2025. Further renewals may occur by mutual agreement for up to four years, contingent upon funding appropriations.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at MCI/DYS located at 332 Marion Williamsport Rd, Marion, OH 43302.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in providing similar services to facilities comparable to ODRC projects. They are required to notify ODRC of any necessary licenses and permits applicable to the provision of services. Bidders must also affirm their understanding of project requirements, indicate willingness to comply with State of Ohio contracts, provide warranty information for materials and labor, and attend a mandatory site visit scheduled for May 9, 2025.
