Background
The City of Sylvania is soliciting Letters of Interest from Consultants to provide Professional Surveying and Design Engineering Services for the Alexis Road and Stewart Road Waterline Improvements Project. This project aims to replace and extend waterlines in the area, enhancing the water supply infrastructure. The project does not have Federal funding and is not classified as an ODOT-Let or LPA-Let project.
Work Details
The selected Consultant will provide engineering services for the following tasks:
1. Replace approximately 2,400 feet of existing 8” waterline on Alexis Road from Altsheler Drive to just west of Whiteford Road, including new services.
2. Extend the existing 12” waterline from Carter Road to Regency Hospital (approximately 800 feet) for water supply redundancy. An additional extension of approximately 1,000 feet to Alexis Road will be performed only if residents petition successfully.
The Consultant will prepare construction plans and specifications by November 2026, ensuring compliance with ODOT Location and Design Manual requirements. The anticipated deliverables include detailed construction plans covering various aspects such as maintenance of traffic, general notes, waterline details, plan profiles, and summaries.
Period of Performance
The anticipated timeline for the project includes authorization to proceed by March 23, 2026, with various submission milestones leading up to the final submission of complete plans and cost estimates by November 6, 2026.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Sylvania, Ohio, specifically along Alexis Road and Stewart Road.
Bidder Requirements
Consultants must be qualified to perform non-complex roadway design services as per Ohio Revised Code requirements. All work must be supervised by a Registered Land Surveyor in Ohio. The Letter of Interest must include information about significant subconsultants and their qualifications.
