Background
The Fayette County Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a consultant for the FAY-Kenskill Shaw project. This project involves the preparation of construction plans for a 2.2-mile bike path in Fayette County, Ohio. The goal is to enhance local recreational infrastructure by connecting existing bike paths and improving accessibility for residents and visitors.
Work Details
The services required under this contract include:
- Preparation of construction plans for a 2.2-mile bike path that will utilize a combination of an existing railroad bed and new path segments.
- The bike path will start at the Washington Cemetery where it intersects Old Chillicothe Road and extend east towards Lowe’s Boulevard, ultimately connecting to an existing path at the Shaw Wetlands.
- The estimated construction cost for this project is $1,000,000.
- The consultant must provide various design services including but not limited to: Bicycle Facilities & Enhancement Design, Non-Complex Roadway Design, Limited Right of Way Plan Development, Environmental Documentation Preparation (CE and 4(f)), Ecological Surveys, Waterway Permits, and Public Involvement activities.
Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance begins with authorization to proceed in March 2026 and is expected to be completed within twelve (12) months from that date.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Fayette County, Ohio, specifically starting from the Washington Cemetery and extending to the Shaw Wetlands.
Bidder Requirements
Consultants must meet prequalification requirements set forth by ODOT. This includes having prequalified individuals for right-of-way acquisition services if applicable. All engineering and design-related services must comply with financial management system evaluation standards. Additionally, firms listed on the federal debarment list are not eligible for selection.
