Forest Service Operations Support for Region 1 Headquarters

Background
The North Carolina Forest Service, part of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, is seeking proposals for the construction of the Region 1 Headquarters. The mission of the Forest Service includes managing and protecting forest resources. This project aims to enhance their operational capabilities through the establishment of a new facility.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a new pre-engineered metal administrative building and a maintenance/storage building. Associated sitework will include utilities installation, paving, creating a gravel lot, fencing, and landscaping. Bids will be accepted for a Single Prime Contract with all proposals submitted as lump sum. Additionally, there is a preferred brand alternate for door hardware in both buildings that must meet specified performance standards.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence after the bid opening on August 12, 2025, with specific timelines to be determined based on project requirements.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the North Carolina Forest Service Region 1 Headquarters located at 212 Airport Road, Kenansville, North Carolina, 28349.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a proper license as required under state laws governing their respective trades. General contractors must hold an Unlimited License classification for Building Contractors. Bidders are required to submit forms identifying minority business participation and include either Affidavit A or Affidavit B as applicable. A cash deposit or certified check equal to at least five percent (5%) of the proposal is required with each bid.
