Drivers Education Services Provision

Background
The Asheville City Schools in North Carolina is seeking bids for the provision of Driver Education Services. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive driver education to eligible enrolled students in accordance with North Carolina's Motor Vehicle Laws. This initiative aims to ensure that students receive the necessary training and education to become safe and responsible drivers.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Driver Education services consisting of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. The contractor must supply dual-controlled, automatic transmission vehicles approved by the DMV, covering all associated costs such as insurance, maintenance, and fuel.

The curriculum must align with the State Board of Education policy and can be modified as needed, with prior notification to Asheville City Schools (ACS). Responsibilities include scheduling students, conducting parent orientations, issuing permits and completion certificates, and maintaining student records confidentially. Instruction will be available year-round with specific time frames for vehicle instruction. Class sizes will be limited to a maximum of three students per vehicle and 50 students per classroom. Instructors must meet state qualifications and report any relevant legal issues immediately. The contractor is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract will last for one year with an option for two one-year extensions upon mutual consent, not exceeding three years total.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the Asheville City Schools district in North Carolina.
