Background
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to establish an Agency Contract for the supply and delivery of Canned Sliced Carrots.
The NCDAC Enterprise Roanoke River Farm is responsible for purchasing, storing, and distributing various shelf-stable food commodities for incarcerated offenders in the State's prison facilities. Work Details
The contract requires the vendor to furnish and deliver Canned Sliced Carrots packaged in 6/#10 cans per case, with an estimated quantity of 952 cases per load.
The product must be low sodium (no salt added is acceptable), contain no pork or pork additives, and must meet USDA Grade A standards. Each delivery must be accompanied by a USDA Certificate of Quality and Condition matching the lot numbers on the bill of lading. The drained weight must comply with USDA recommendations, with specific conditions outlined for underweight shipments. Products must have a minimum shelf life of twelve months from the pack date, be palletized with 56 cases per pallet, and shrink-wrapped without metal banding. Labels must include ingredients, nutritional values, allergens, and country of origin.
Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be one year from the date of final execution, with options to renew for up to two additional one-year terms at the discretion of the State.

Deliveries will be made to NC Department of Adult Correction-Roanoke River Farm, Enfield Warehouse, 1245 Dennis Street Ext, Enfield, NC 27823.
