Blue Line Lake St / Midtown Station Rehabilitation

The requested work involves the comprehensive renovation of the METRO Transit Blue Line Lake Street/Midtown Station, located at 2310 East Lake Street, just west of Highway 55 (Hiawatha Avenue) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This project encompasses a major overhaul of the Blue Line aerial station, including the construction of new interior operations spaces at the ground level and the installation of a new, accessible exterior pedestrian ramp that will connect the street level to the platform. The renovation scope further includes the removal of the existing partial canopy and attached overhead catenary system, platform shelters, elevators, escalators, and stair enclosures. Following demolition, the project will require reconstruction of a new canopy, reinstallation of the overhead catenary system, platform amenities, new elevators, and new, widened outdoor staircases. All associated civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, systems, temporary traffic work, as well as testing and certification necessary to support the project are included in the contract requirements.
