Renovate Barn at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary NRMA

Background
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a contractor to renovate the barn at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary, located at 11604 Fenno Road, Upper Marlboro, Prince George's County, MD.
The project aims to enhance the facility for better use and accessibility in alignment with the agency's mission to manage and protect Maryland's natural resources.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, equipment, materials, tools, supplies, and insurance necessary for the renovation of the barn.
Specific tasks include:
- Renovation of existing structures
- Installation of new materials as specified in the Project Manual dated 04/04/2025
- Compliance with all applicable construction codes and standards
- Completion of work within the stipulated timeframe of 90 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
The project has a classification 'A' (up to $100,000).

The contract work must be completed within 90 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed.

The renovation will take place at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary located at 11604 Fenno Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.

Bidder Requirements
This procurement is designated for Certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE).
Bidders must submit a bid response packet that includes: Bid/Proposal Affidavit, Bid Bond, Bidder/Offeror Information Sheet, Conflict of Interest Affidavit, Payment of Employee Healthcare Expenses Certification, and Contract Affidavit.
A minimum of 51% of all work must be performed by the prime contractor’s own workforce. No more than 49% may be subcontracted. The MBE participation goal is set at 0%. All bidders must comply with licensing requirements as per Maryland regulations.
