Office of Traffic Building #1 Commercial Wall Prep, Painting and Wallpaper Removal

Background
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), part of the Maryland Department of Transportation, is soliciting bids for a commercial painting contract. The goal is to procure services for wall preparation, painting, and wallpaper removal in the Office of Traffic Building #1 located at 7491 Connelley Drive, Hanover, Maryland. This procurement is designated as a Small Business Reserve Procurement, limiting eligibility to certified small business vendors.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Wallpaper Removal:
- Training Room: Remove approximately 228 sq ft of wallpaper.
- Office 1: Remove approximately 240 sq ft of wallpaper.
- Office 2: Remove approximately 240 sq ft of wallpaper.

2. Wall Preparation:
- Inspect walls and fill cracks or holes to ensure smooth surfaces for painting.
- Coat prepared surfaces with primer/sealer before applying finish paint.

3. Painting:
- Training Room: Paint total wall area of 414 sq ft and a bulkhead area of 144 sq ft.
- Office 1: Paint total wall area of 336 sq ft.
- Office 2: Paint total wall area of 336 sq ft.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is expected to be completed within 60 days or sooner from the notice to proceed.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Maryland State Highway Administration, Office of Traffic Building #1, located at 7491 Connelley Drive, Hanover, Maryland 21076.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of five years' experience in commercial painting and wallpaper removal. They must provide three references from past projects and hold a current Maryland business license. Additionally, bidders must submit proof of Workman’s Compensation and Liability Insurance, along with a completed Conflict-of-Interest Affidavit and other required documents.
