Company 6 Roof Replacement Project

Background
The Massachusetts State College Building Authority (MSCBA) is seeking bids for the Company 6 Roof Replacement Project at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. The project aims to replace the built-up roof on Mass Maritime Company 6 with a single membrane PVC roof system. The total estimated cost for this project is $950,000.

Work Details
The scope of work includes full roof removal and replacement of dormitory Company 06 with a single membrane PVC roof system. This will involve the installation of new scuppers and downspouts, coordination of lightning protection, vent extension, and existing rooftop unit coordination.

The Roofing Contractor will act as the General Contractor and will be responsible for obtaining all sub-trades necessary for the completion of the project.

Period of Performance
On-site construction is scheduled to start on June 22, 2026, with substantial completion expected by July 17, 2026, and final completion by July 24, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy located in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of Roofing. General Bids must include a valid Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement.

A bid deposit of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid amount is required, payable to the Massachusetts State College Building Authority. All employees working on this project must have completed at least 10 hours of OSHA-approved safety training.
