Background
The City of Salem is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB #26-26-FIR) for the Overhead Door Alterations and Repairs at Salem Fire Station No. 2, located at 142 North Street, Salem, Massachusetts.
The project aims to enhance the functionality and safety of the fire station's overhead doors, which are critical for emergency operations.
The City seeks qualified contractors to provide the necessary services to complete this project in compliance with local regulations and standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Selective demolition of existing overhead doors as specified in Section 02.41.00.
2. Installation of new sectional overhead doors as per Section 08.36.13.
3. Installation of commercial door operators according to Section 08.71.23.
4. Masonry work related to the installation as detailed in Section 04.20.00.
5. Carpentry work as outlined in Section 06.10.00.
6. Application of caulking and sealants as per Section 07.90.00.
7. Painting of surfaces affected by the installation as specified in Section 09.10.00.
8. Temporary shoring, bracing, and protection during construction as required by Section 31.41.00.

Period of Performance
The contractor is expected to commence work on or around April 1, 2026, with substantial completion required by June 29, 2026.

The work will be performed at Salem Fire Station No. 2, located at 142 North Street, Salem, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a Certificate of Eligibility for General Construction from the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM).
Additionally, filed sub-bidders must have a Certificate of Eligibility for Masonry Work from DCAMM and submit a current Update Statement with their bids.
