Wheaton Roosevelt Road Sidewalk and Pedestrian Bridge Improvements

Background
The City of Wheaton is soliciting competitive bids for the Wheaton Roosevelt Road Sidewalk and Pedestrian Bridge Improvements Project. This project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility in the area, aligning with the city's commitment to improving infrastructure for its residents.

Work Details

The project is partially funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, with an overall Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Goal of 28%, including 18% for minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs) and 10% for women-owned business enterprises (WBEs). All contractors must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, ensuring that all laborers are paid at least the prevailing wage rates as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor.

The project schedule will be determined by the City of Wheaton Engineering Department after the award, with an expected completion timeline following standard construction practices.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a Bid Bond of 10% of the full contract price along with their proposal. They are also required to provide a Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, Maintenance Bond (10% of final contract price), and various forms including a Cost Proposal Form and Notice of Deviations Form as specified in the solicitation documents. Bidders must demonstrate good faith efforts to include minority business firms in their proposals.
