RFP 2025-02 Annual Greenspace Maintenance

Background
The City of Peachtree Corners, established on July 1, 2012, is located in Gwinnett County, Georgia. It serves over 45,000 residents and more than 2,300 businesses. The City is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to seek experienced landscaping contractors for the annual maintenance of various greenspaces including pocket parks, passive parks, amenity areas, landscaped intersections, and landscaped medians. The goal is to maintain public aesthetics and ensure the safety and attractiveness of these areas.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive landscaping maintenance services which include:

1. Routine Maintenance: Weekly inspections and maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, blowing debris, and trash pickup.

2. Problem Area Management: Reporting and scheduling repairs for identified issues through work orders.

3. Preventive Maintenance: Actions to prevent hazards including winterizing irrigation systems and graffiti removal.

4. Litter and Trash Removal: Regular removal of litter and debris from parks and public spaces; emptying trash containers as needed.

5. Graffiti Removal: Cleaning or painting over graffiti within 24 hours.

6. Vandalism Repairs: Immediate securing of vandalized areas and scheduling necessary repairs.

7. Landscape Maintenance: Mowing grass areas weekly during the growing season; bi-weekly during the off-season; trimming trees and shrubs as needed.

8. Edging: Weekly edging of curbs, sidewalks, and paths from March to October.

9. Fertilizing Turf: Annual chemical program for turf areas including weed control treatments.

10. Herbicide Use: Application of herbicides with appropriate safety measures.

11. Sodding: Repairing bare spots with sod as directed.

12. Irrigation System Management: Testing and maintaining irrigation systems before watering season begins.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award in July 2025 and will cover an annual period with options for renewal based on performance.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed throughout the City of Peachtree Corners at designated greenspace locations including parks, medians along State Route 141, gateway areas, trail hubs, roundabouts, and other specified sites.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must have prior experience with similar landscaping services in municipal settings. They are required to provide a dedicated Project Manager responsible for all aspects of the work who must not be involved in performing the services directly. Additionally, contractors must comply with all local laws regarding employment verification (O.C.G.A §13-10-91) and maintain appropriate insurance coverage including general liability and workers' compensation.
