RFB 26-001 Cassville White Road Bridge Widening Project

Background
Bartow County is seeking sealed bids for the rehabilitation of two existing bridges on Cassville White Road. The project aims to address the substandard widths of these bridges located near the I-75 Interchange, enhancing safety and accessibility in the area.

Work Details
The project involves the following key tasks:

1. Demolition of the superstructures of two undersized bridges and replacement with a proprietary Sandwich Plate System (SPS) superstructure tied to new wide flange beams.

2. Minor modifications to the substructure of the easternmost bridge, including installation of new wing walls and caps on all four corners to accommodate increased lane widths.

3. Ancillary road and pavement construction, including installation of new guardrails, pavement markings, signage, creek debris removal, and additional pavement widths for approximately 250 +/- feet on both sides of both bridges. The lane widths will be temporarily increased from approximately 9'-0" to around 11'-0".

Period of Performance
The work must be completed within a timeline from May 1 to July 31, with a total duration of 92 days upon receipt of a Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed on Cassville White Road in Bartow County, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be either prequalified contractors or registered subcontractors with GDOT. A Bid Bond equal to 5% of the bid amount is required, along with Performance and Payment Bonds (100% and 110% respectively). Proof of General Liability Insurance and Workman’s Compensation Insurance is mandatory, with Bartow County Commissioner listed as an additional insured. Compliance with Executive Order No. 11246 regarding Equal Employment Opportunity and participation in the E-Verify program is also required.
