Playground Renovation Project-Elementary School(Pre-K)

Background
The Calhoun County Board of Education is seeking proposals for the Pre-K Playground Renovation Project at Calhoun County Elementary School. The goal of this project is to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate outdoor environment for Pre-K learners by replacing existing playground equipment with age-appropriate Play Topia structures and a 3-bay swing set with ADA seating to ensure inclusivity and safety.

Work Details
The scope includes the following components:

A. Playground Structures:
1. Playtopia PlayMax Playground Structure – VM-400509;
2. Playtopia ValuMax Playground Structure – PT-300490;
3. 3-Bay Arch Post Swing Frame with Belt and ADA Swing Seats.

B. Surfacing Options (Bidders must propose one or both options):
1. Bonded Rubber Surfacing - covering a 3,400 sq. ft. area, must meet ASTM F1292 standards for impact attenuation, available in multiple colors, seamless, anti-fatigue, one-day installation surface with shock-absorbing properties;
2. Rubber Nugget Playground Mulch - installed at an 8" depth to meet fall-zone safety requirements, must be ADA-compliant and meet IPEMA certification standards.

C. Playground Borders: Install APS Plastic Playground Borders, 8" height (black or green), including patented surfacing guide for surfacing depth verification and all necessary stakes, hardware, and ADA half-ramp transitions.

D. Installation: Site preparation, excavation, grading, installation of all listed equipment, surfacing, and borders; debris removal and site cleanup are the contractor's responsibility; field dimensions must be verified prior to installation.

E. Freight and Delivery: All freight, delivery, and staging costs must be included in the proposal.
