Background
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Gwinnett County Detention Center Employee Parking and Security Upgrades Project. This project aims to enhance the security and accessibility of the employee parking area at the detention center, aligning with the county's commitment to improving public safety and facility functionality.

Work Details
The scope of this project includes:
1. Redesigning the existing employee parking lot to provide new ADA-compliant and parallel parking spaces.
2. Resurfacing and re-striping the parking lot.
3. Installing new security fencing and gates.
4. Implementing upgraded security systems, including cameras and access controls.
5. Enhancing security at the employee building entrance through the installation of new door access systems and redesigning the screening room.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed, with completion required within a specified number of calendar days as outlined in the bid documents.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Gwinnett County Detention Center located at 2900 University Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must not be on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list. Corporations not chartered in Georgia must provide certification of authorization to do business in Georgia. A five percent (5%) bid bond is required with submissions, along with a one hundred percent (100%) payment bond and performance bond from a surety company meeting specified criteria, including an AM Best rating of A-10 or greater.
