Background
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking competitive pricing for Aquatic Fence Construction, Refencing, and Removal to support its mission of managing fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being.
The goal of this contract is to protect newly established aquatic vegetation in the St. Johns River from herbivores by constructing temporary fenced enclosures.
Work Details
The contractor will perform three main services:
1) New aquatic enclosure construction, which includes installing T-posts, PVC pipe, and fence wire;
2) Aquatic enclosure refencing, which involves refurbishing existing fencing by removing old wire and replacing it with new wire;
3) Aquatic enclosure removal, which entails taking down all fencing materials at the project's conclusion.
Specific materials include T-posts (minimum length of 6.5 feet), PVC pipes (1.5-inch diameter), adhesive reflective tape, and stainless steel fencing material.
Each fenced enclosure will be rectangular and constructed to protect aquatic plants from grazing.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for two years upon issuance of the Purchase Order.
Work must begin within fourteen calendar days from the date the Purchase Order is issued.
Place of Performance
Work locations will be within the St. Johns River and associated lakes between Jacksonville and Melbourne in counties including Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler, Marion, Lake, Volusia, Seminole, and Brevard.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered in the MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) system and with SunBiz prior to bid opening.
Certified Minority-owned, Woman-owned, and Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises are encouraged to participate.
Bidders must provide a minimum of three references for similar projects completed.
