Background
The Seymour No. 4 Dam Improvements project is issued by the Energy & Environmental Protection agency. The goal of this contract is to enhance the structural integrity and functionality of the Seymour No. 4 Dam through various construction improvements, ensuring safety and efficiency in water management.
Work Details
The contractor will replace the existing spillway with a concrete drop inlet structure featuring a 48-inch discharge pipe and an energy dissipator at the downstream end. A new 16-inch outlet pipe, controlled by a stainless steel slide gate, will be installed within the drop inlet spillway structure. Additionally, a new valve and extension stem will be installed on the existing low-level outlet upstream of the dam at the bottom of the reservoir.
The scope includes clearing trees from embankments, filling in the downstream slope near the new spillway discharge pipe and energy dissipator, repairing eroded areas on the crest (which will be raised by one foot), and placing riprap on the upstream slope. Furthermore, construction of a 100-foot long auxiliary spillway with a concrete core wall is required, along with clearing trees and stumps from the left dike, topsoiling, and seeding with grass.

The contract work is scheduled to commence on February 4, 2026, and conclude by March 18, 2026.
