The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is seeking qualified firms to provide fire extinguisher maintenance services on an as-needed basis, with no guarantee of usage. Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, and repairs of all designated facilities' fire extinguisher inventory. Services include: annual inspections, six-year internal maintenance or hydrostatic tests, CO2 extinguisher annual service or five-year high-pressure hydrostatic tests.
Specific service requirements include: weekly recharge services, leak repairs, provision of loaner extinguishers for units sent off-site for testing at no additional cost, and conducting an annual walk-through at all listed maintenance bases. The contractor must coordinate inspection scheduling with OCTA personnel and provide standard preventative maintenance parts during inspections. The approximate inventory includes various sizes of fire extinguishers such as 2½ lb (250 units), 5 lb (660 units), 10 lb (350 units), and others.

Services will be provided at multiple OCTA facilities including Garden Grove Base, Anaheim Base, Santa Ana Base, OC Streetcar location in Santa Ana, Irvine Sand Canyon Base, and Irvine Construction Circle Base.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must maintain a Type B + Type D Concern License issued by the State of California Fire Marshal. They are required to procure and maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including Commercial General Liability with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate; Automobile Liability Insurance; Workers' Compensation; and Employers' Liability Insurance. Proof of insurance must be submitted within ten days from the effective date of the Agreement.
