Kennedy Park Improvements, Phase I

Background
The City of Union City, California, is issuing a contract for the Kennedy Park Improvements, Phase I (City Project No. 24-15). The project aims to rehabilitate the parking lot pavement surface, base, and subbase, improve site drainage and associated facilities, install a new bioswale area, and make ADA improvements along with irrigation for new vegetation and trees. The project is subject to the most current Caltrans Standard Specifications and has an Engineer’s Estimate of $425,000.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Rehabilitating parking lot pavement surface, base, and subbase;
- Improving site drainage and its associated facilities;
- Installing a new bioswale area;
- Making ADA improvements;
- Installing irrigation for new vegetation and trees.

The contractor must complete the project within 60 working days. Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with restrictions on non-working Fridays and holidays.

Period of Performance
The project must be completed within 60 working days from the commencement date specified in the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
Union City, California.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a Class A or C-12 California contractor's license. Bids must include a completed List of Subcontractors form for any subcontractor performing work valued over 0.5% of the total bid price. Bidders must also provide:
- A performance bond (100% of contract price);
- A payment/labor and materials bond (100% of contract price);
- A maintenance bond (10% of base bid);
- Workers' compensation insurance certification.
