Background
The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is issuing this solicitation for Kitchen Exhaust Hood System Cleaning Services specifically for the Veterans Home of California at Redding. The goal is to ensure that the kitchen exhaust systems are maintained in compliance with health and safety regulations, thereby supporting the agency's mission to provide quality care to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive cleaning services for five commercial kitchen exhaust hood systems located at the Veterans Home of California - Redding. This includes:

1) Cleaning of duct hood fans, fan housing, and ductwork;
2) Pressure washing all hood vent filters and component grease traps;
3) Polishing all stainless steel associated with the hood vent system;
4) Ensuring no visible accumulation of dirt and grease remains post-cleaning;
5) Using food-grade safe, non-toxic, and eco-friendly cleaning chemicals;
6) Protecting food items and cooking equipment from contamination during cleaning;
7) Coordinating service dates with the Contract Manager to avoid service interruptions;
8) Being accompanied by a home representative during service.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, or upon date of approval, whichever is later, and will continue through June 30, 2029.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Veterans Home of California located at 3400 Knighton Rd, Redding, CA, 96002.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified as Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) by the Department of General Services and maintain their certification throughout the contract term. Contractors are required to provide proof of insurance coverage including Commercial General Liability, Professional Liability, Automobile Liability, Pollution Liability (if applicable), and Workers’ Compensation. Additionally, contractors must submit various documentation including a Quote Rate Sheet and a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Declaration.
