Grant Description
This award obligates Section 5307 funds apportioned to UZA 1 in the amount of $159,118,761 for New York City transit projects. This award uses transportation development credits for match ($31,823,752). The toll credit approvals for appropriations through and including FFY 2022 is attached.
Purpose of the award - This award will assist the MTA to invest capital funding into its assets/infrastructure maintained by NYCT.
Activities to be performed - The application scope of work includes an ADA accessibility project for NYCT.
Expected outcomes - This application will support the MTA's need to rehabilitate and replace assets to achieve a state of good repair.
Intended beneficiaries - The MTA and its ridership.
Subrecipient activities - The MTA does not have subrecipients under this award. The Section 5307 funds will be from FY2022 allocations from the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC). A table is attached in TRAMS under application documents to show the amounts used by fiscal year and funding program (see file: MTA Funding Allocation Usage and Availability Grant 1786-2022-8).
1% security requirement - The MTA certifies that it will not expend 1% of the apportionment on security. The MTA utilizes local funds and awards from the Department of Homeland Security.
0.75% safety requirement - MTA's budget for 5307 funds is $159,118,761 in this award. FTA requires at least $1,193,391 be spent on safety-related projects. The MTA has identified ADA: 168th Street 7th Avenue Broadway with a federal request of $159,118,761 in this award to satisfy this requirement.
