Overview
Grant Description
Application purpose: The 5307 funds will be used for preventive maintenance (vehicles, equipment, and facilities) capital cost of contracting operating assistance at least 1% of RTD's 5307 apportionments for security-related projects and at least 1% of Stockton UZAs apportionment for transit improvement activities from July 1, 2023, through December 31, 2025.
Activities performed: The funds will cover all eligible expenses such as ADA and public transit services, preventive maintenance of RTD rolling stock and facilities, RTD's operating assistance, transit improvements, purchase of surveillance/security equipment, and other security-related items.
Expected outcomes: Funding will permit San Joaquin RTD to meet preventive maintenance standards and help RTD operate a more efficient connected transit service in the Stockton urbanized area and throughout San Joaquin County.
It will also provide the necessary service to keep our fleet running efficiently and ensure the project life of the vehicle.
Ensure facilities, including the bus shelters, will remain in a state of good repair and improve RTD's security surveillance.
Intended beneficiaries: The population of the Stockton urbanized service area and local transit riders will benefit from ongoing service enabling workers to reach their workplaces and other destinations.
