Grant Description
Award Purpose: This project will focus on improving the quality of and access to surface marine observations in Alaska waters.
Activities to be performed: Marine Exchange of Alaska (MXAK) will install weather stations on six Alaska Marine Highway vessels.
Deliverables: Expected outcomes - The weather stations will be connected to the vessels' existing Automatic Identification System (AIS) to send weather data automatically to the MXAK server.
Intended beneficiary: MXAK and MARAD.
Subrecipient activities: None.
