The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Landslide Hazards Program (LHP) issues this Program Announcement for assistance to support communication, planning, coordination, mapping, assessments, and data collection of landslide hazards. The program announcement for the Cooperative Landslide Hazard Mapping and Assessment Program is authorized by the National Landslide Preparedness Act (P.L. 116-323) and appropriations to the USGS.A main objective of this Program, as outlined in the National Landslide Preparedness Act, is to provide grants, on a competitive basis, to state, territorial, local, and Tribal governments to research, map, assess, and collect data on landslide hazards within the jurisdictions of those governments. Grant Details
The program announcement solicits Risk Reduction Proposals from state, Tribal, territorial, and local governments. The proposals must outline a period of performance of either one or two years with a clearly stated objective for the requested term.

Proposals will include descriptions of project personnel and their experience and skills relevant to completing the proposed tasks. All supplies and equipment must be itemized and provided with a dealer or manufacturer quote.

Equipment funding requests of $5,000 or more per item must be supported by a full justification and a dealer or manufacturer quote. Proposals must include a Data Management Plan (DMP) to conform with the Executive Order of February 22, 2013.

Eligibility Requirements
This Announcement is open to state, Tribal, territorial, and local governments. A university may submit a proposal on behalf of a state geological survey or other state office if they are organized under a university system.

Period of Performance
Projects must have a performance period of either 12 or 24 months. The USGS anticipates that projects submitted for funding under this opportunity will have a period of performance of one year. However, if the proposed work is such that two years are required to complete the project, then a two-year proposal is appropriate and can be submitted.
