Description

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to provide logistical and administrative support to INL-Belize capacity building programs that provide training and other relevant activities to participants with the goal of enhancing the capacity of governmental institutions and to reduce crime. The logistics and administrative support services required are for programs implemented within the country of Belize only.

Background
The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the U.S. Department of State is at the forefront of responding to challenges related to crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. INL's foreign assistance programs are essential to advancing U.S. policy objectives, including disrupting and reducing illicit drug markets and transnational crime, combating corruption and illicit financing, and strengthening criminal justice systems to support stable, rights-respecting partners.

The project will stabilize and strengthen security institutions, combat narco-trafficking, minimize transnational crime impact, and promote just and democratic governments by strengthening justice sector institutions, good governance, and respect for human rights.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based non-profit/non-governmental organizations (NGOs), U.S.-based educational institutions subject to section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code or section 26 US 115 of the U.S. tax code, foreign-based non-profits/non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and foreign-based educational institutions.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience implementing similar projects, preferably in the target country or region.

Period of Performance
The initial project implementation length is 24 months with an estimated start date in July 2024. INL projects shall not exceed five total years of project implementation.

Grant Value
The total available funding for this grant opportunity is $600,000 USD with anticipated awards ranging from a minimum of $400,000 USD to a maximum of $600,000 USD.

The specific geographic location for the grant will be within the country of Belize.
