Description

The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $5,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.

The goal of this NOFO is to engage with the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini to strengthen national laboratory and HIV epidemic monitoring systems to enhance an efficient, resilient, and self-reliant response to HIV, TB, and related public health threats. To facilitate timely and accurate HIV and TB diagnosis and management, activities will focus on supporting the national laboratory system to enhance diagnostic network operations, optimize national sample referral systems, advance interoperability of laboratory and clinical information system, and ensure testing quality through local proficiency testing and laboratory certification schemes. Support will also be provided to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Health and other relevant government entities to oversee, conduct, and advance HIV and TB epidemic monitoring necessary to inform life-saving program interventions. The technical assistance aimed at enhancing national laboratory and disease monitoring systems, as well as workforce capacity, should show progress toward health security benchmarks. These benchmarks will indicate that Eswatini has established self-reliant systems, structures, policies, and a workforce capable of preparing for, identifying, and responding to concerning signals in HIV, TB, and related public health threats.
