Strengthening Global Health Security through Strategic Partnerships in Central America and the Dominican Republic

This NOFO aims to build on CDC's ongoing initiatives to bolster Global Health Security by implementing projects designed to protect and improve public health in Central America and the Dominican Republic. Through strategic collaboration with Ministries of Health, this cooperative agreement will enhance national public health systems to be strong and resilient, capable of preventing, detecting, and responding to infectious disease threats. Key activities include strengthening National Reference Laboratories and laboratory systems, expanding epidemiological and surveillance workforce capacities via the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), and improving surveillance systems for respiratory, food-borne, vector-borne, fungal, and other diseases. Proposed projects should align with regional and national priorities and address health equity, advancing CDC's mission to enhance prevention, detection, and response strategies against health threats in the region.
