Description

PEPFAR Ghana is seeking two organizations to submit proposals to implement:

  1. MEDIA TRAINING - A training for selected journalists on HIV
  2. HIV ANTI- STIGMA CAMPAIGN - To organize community engagements with local Government and Traditional authorities on Stigma and discrimination to push forward the Test and Treat goal in eliminating HIV as a public health threat by 2030.
Background
The U.S. Department of State Embassy Accra is seeking organizations to submit proposals to implement the PEPFAR MEDIA TRAINING AND HIV ANTI-STIGMA PROGRAMS. The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) aims to eliminate HIV and AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. The U.S. government has invested over $100 billion in the global HIV/AIDS response, saving 25 million lives and preventing millions of HIV infections.

Grant Details
The program includes two components: Media Training and HIV Anti-Stigma Campaign.

The Media Training involves training journalists on accurate reporting, creative dissemination of information, Test and Treat strategy, Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U), achieving the 95-95-95 goals, and advocacy to eliminate HIV as a public health threat by 2030.
The Anti-Stigma Campaign requires organizing community engagements with local Government and Traditional authorities on Stigma and discrimination to push forward the Test and Treat goal in eliminating HIV as a public health threat by 2030.
The program will cover Western, Western North, and Ahafo Regions of Ghana.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible organizations include not-for-profit organizations, including non-governmental organizations focused on media-related and health issues.
Applicants should have knowledge and understanding of PEPFAR programs, training expertise in journalism, familiarity with public health issues related to HIV and AIDS, experience in community mobilization, and outdoor campaigns.

Period of Performance
The length of the performance period is 10 months to 1 year, with an anticipated program start date in October 2024.

Grant Value
The total available funding is $75,000, with awards ranging from a minimum of $30,000 to a maximum of $45,000.
The Media Training Award is up to $30,000, while the Anti-Stigma Campaign Award is up to $45,000.

The priority regions for this grant opportunity are Western, Western North, and Ahafo Regions of Ghana.
