INDUSTRY DAY: The Space Development Agency (SDA) will host an in-person Industry Day (Secret Level)
on Thursday, May 19, 2022. This Industry Day will focus on the Tranche 1 Demonstration and
Experimentation System (T1DES) solicitation with two distinct sessions. There is a morning presentation
(0900-1200) on the T1DES system and anticipated outcomes. After the presentation, potential bidders
will have an opportunity to ask questions in person during the morning session. This event will be held
at the Secret level and all attendees are required to hold a Department of Defense (DOD) SECRET level
clearance. The afternoon (1300-1500) presentation will cover SCI level information for T1DES and only
attendees with DOD SCI levels will be permitted to attend the presentation.

BACKGROUND: The Space Development Agency (SDA) issued the Tranche 1 Demonstration and
Experimentation System (T1DES) solicitation to augment the Tranche 1 (T1) constellation. T1DES will
deploy additional space vehicles with payloads that demonstrate future missions. T1DES will have the
capability to leverage the low latency data transfer and beyond line-of-sight command and control
infrastructure established by the T1TL program. T1DES SVs fall in two categories: Demonstration SVs and
Experimentation SVs. This solicitation is for T1DES Demonstration SVs and their supporting launch and
ground systems only. Separate solicitations for Experimentation SVs will be released later. T1DES
Demonstration SVs will be users of T1TL, with compatible optical communications terminals (OCTs),
networking and data routing, and ground system operations. T1DES SVs will host two mission payloads
that are developed or sourced as part of this solicitation. The mission payloads are Low Earth Orbit
Integrated Broadcast System (IBS-L) and Tactical Satellite Communications (TACSATCOM) in UHF and S-
Band. SDA expects T1DES SVs to launch with Tracking Layer Tranche 1 SVs and deploy to four orbital
planes. SDA expects the T1DES Demonstration system to comprise approximately 12 space vehicles, to
be launched third quarter of GFY 2025.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Registration is limited by the venue capacity (maximum of 60 in person
attendees) and requires a DOD Secret or higher level of clearance for the morning session and only
DOD SCI Clearance holders will be permitted in the afternoon session. ORGANIZATIONS ARE LIMITED
TO ONE IN-PERSON ATTENDEE. Early registration is strongly recommended. The determination of what
constitutes an organization will be made by SDA. Registration may close prior to the registration

on-site registration. SDA’s T1DES Industry Day is intended to promote greater understanding of the
