COMPREHENSIVE AIRCRAFT READINESS, LIFECYCLE, ENGINEERING, AND
SUPPORT (CHARLES) INDUSTRY DAY
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center (JSC) plans
to conduct an Industry Day for the CHARLES procurement. NASA/JSC is hereby soliciting
firms to attend this event virtually on September 1, 2021 via Microsoft Teams. The presentation
to industry will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. One-on-one communication opportunities
will be scheduled from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M on September 1, 2021. If necessary, additional
time for one-on-one communications will be made available on September 2.
CHARLES Summary:
CHARLES will include support for aircraft at JSC based at Ellington Field in Houston and at El
Paso, Texas Langley Research Center (LaRC), Hampton, Virginia Goddard Space Flight
Center, Wallops Flight Facility (WFF), Wallops Island, Virginia and other remote sites,
domestic and foreign, where services are required.

P-3 Orion
C-130 Hercules
C-23 Sherpa.
GOALS:
The goals of Industry Day are to:
1. Provide information on the current Aircraft maintenance, Logistics, Integration,
Configuration management and Engineering (ALICE) contract.
2. Promote competition on the proposed CHARLES acquisition.
3. Share the Governments current vision and objectives pertaining to the new Acquisition.
4. Allow NASA/JSC to better utilize industry input to improve the future Request for
Proposal (RFP).
Industry Day is open to all firms that are interested in pursuing contracting/subcontracting
opportunities on the CHARLES procurement whether they have performed work at JSC or not.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
No photos or recording devices are permitted during the Industry Day Presentation or one-on-
one sessions.
Please note a 30-minute open Question and Answer Session will follow the presentation.
ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS:
To facilitate interactive communications with industry, NASA personnel will also be available
for private teleconference meetings with individual companies in conjunction with Industry Day.
The purpose of these meetings is to provide industry with the opportunity to better understand
the existing requirements under CHARLES and to allow industry an opportunity to provide input
related to the CHARLES procurement. The meetings are intended to be question and answer
sessions in which neither side will be making a formal presentation.
Any company may request a one-on-one meeting. Meetings will not exceed 25 minutes in length
and attendance is limited to four persons. Scheduling of appointment times will be on a first
come, first served basis. Appointments will be scheduled virtually in 30-minute increments
between 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M on September 1, 2021 via Microsoft Teams.

Companies/teams will be assigned to specific times as not to overlap with any one-on-one
meetings.

darrell.r.compton@nasa.gov. Please note that all attendees must be United States citizens or
Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR).
All reservations must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. CDT on Friday August 27, 2021. A
confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge your reservation on or before Monday August
30, 2021.
No solicitation exists therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is
released it will be synopsized in www.beta.sam.gov. It is the potential offerors responsibility to
monitor the site for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.
