STATEMENT OF WORK

Inert Atmosphere Glovebox System

PART A: SPECIFICATIONS

A-1. The completely new Inert Atmosphere Glovebox System must be a state-of-the-
art commercially available system. It must be supplied by a vendor of national and
international reputation and recognition, having been involved in the manufacture and
service of inert atmosphere glovebox systems and accessories for a minimum of 20 years.
The Inert Atmosphere Glove Box must be supplied as a complete operational system that
is capable of future modifications and enhancements.

A-2. Main Characteristics and Capabilities: The Inert Atmosphere Glovebox
System must have the following characteristics and capabilities:

The glovebox must have independent purifiers. It must have a purifier(s) with
integrated blower assembly for removal of oxygen (O2), and it must have a
purifier(s) with independent blower assembly for removal of moisture (H2O).

The purifiers must be able to remove and maintain oxygen (O2) and moisture (H2O)
to < 1 ppm.

The purifiers must not require regeneration by the user. The purifiers must be based
on a cartridge system that enables the rapid and facile reestablishment of
purification capacity.

The purifier cartridges must be fully activated when received from the manufacturer
and ready for immediate use. Cartridges must have sufficient capacity to enable
glovebox operation for > 6 months under normal conditions.

The purification systems must fit within the glovebox itself to eliminate external
circulation plumbing and isolation valves and minimize system complexity.

The main structure of the glovebox must be stainless-steel for corrosion resistance.

The glovebox must have 4 glove ports with handed butyl rubber gloves to enable
two individuals to work simultaneously.

The glovebox pressure must be dynamically controlled by a Photohelic gauge with
associated foot switch (or comparable device).

The glovebox must have a stainless-steel antechamber that has manual ball valves
for evacuation and refill.

The glovebox must be supplied with an O2 analyzer that can detect O2 levels < 1
ppm. The oxygen analyzer must be specific to oxygen and must not be susceptible
to Hydrocarbons that can cause false low readings.

The glovebox must be supplied with a H2O analyzer that can detect H2O levels < 1
ppm.

The glovebox must be equipped with lighting to illuminate the workspace. The
lighting must be LED based to increase longevity and reduce maintenance.

A-3. Additional Features: The Inert Atmosphere Glovebox System must have the
following additional custom features:

Left mounted antechamber (e.g., the position when facing the front of the Glove
Box).

Interface assembly consisting of four KF-40 welded feedthroughs penetrating into
the glovebox. The location of the feedthroughs will be determined by the user.

Interface assembly consisting of six 20 amp 5-way binding posts. The location of
the binding posts will be determined by the user.

Interface assembly consisting of two ¼” NPT welded feedthroughs. The location
of the feedthroughs will be determined by the user.

J-Box assembly, duplex outlet box with NEMA 5-15 plugs. The location of the
outlet box will be determined by the user.

PART B: WARRANTY

B-1. The complete Inert Atmosphere Glovebox System, including but not limited to
all supporting hardware, shall be covered via a full warranty for a minimum of one year.

B-2. The warranty shall commence once the inspection and acceptance of the Inert
Atmosphere Glovebox System has been completed by the US Naval Academy.

STANDARD COMMERCIAL WARRANTY, SUP 5252.246-940 (JAN 1992)

The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of any standard
commercial warranty normally offered in a similar commercial sale, provided such
warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government. Acceptance of the standard
commercial warranty does not waive the Government's rights under the "Inspection" clause
nor does it limit the Government's rights with regard to the other terms and conditions of
this contract. In the event of a conflict, the terms and conditions of the contract shall take
precedence over the standard commercial warranty. The standard commercial warranty
period shall begin upon final acceptance of the applicable material and/or services listed in
the Schedule. The Contractor shall provide a copy of its standard commercial warranty (if
applicable) with its offer.

PART C: DELIVERY

C-1. All shipping, handling and insurance should be provided by the supplier of the
Inert Atmosphere Glovebox System. Delivery must be made directly to the U.S. Naval
Academy Department of Chemistry.

C-2.
Installation, start-up, and testing of the complete Inert Atmosphere Glovebox
System at the U.S. Naval Academy Department of Chemistry shall be the responsibility of
the user. However, appropriate and timely technical support must be provided by the
supplier of the Inert Atmosphere Glovebox System to enable the proper installation.

C-3. The Inert Atmosphere Glovebox System shall be delivered to the U.S. Naval
Academy within 90 days after the purchase contract is awarded.
