L-3 KEO, Northampton, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $19,571,552 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-11-C-6293) for two AN/BVS-1 Photonics Mast Systems for installation on Virginia-class submarines and two Integrated Submarine Imaging System Augmented Sensor (IAS) Low Profile Masts (LPM). The photonics mast is a non-hull penetrating electronic imaging subsystem of the command and control system. The photonics mast incorporates visible, infrared and electronic support measures sensors and stealth features that will provide new capabilities for attack submarines. The IAS LPM is an electro-optical replacement for conventional periscopes. Work will be performed in Northampton, Massachusetts (48.6 percent); Newington, Virginia (9 percent); Westfield, Massachusetts (7.6 percent); Exeter, New Hampshire (5.8 percent); Seattle, Washington (5.5 percent); Amesbury, Massachusetts (5.5 percent); Joplin, Missouri (4.8 percent); Moonachie, New Jersey (4.3 percent); Southampton, Massachusetts (3.5 percent); Radford, Virginia (2.9 percent); and Brattleboro, Vermont (2.5 percent), and is expected to be completed by March 2017. Fiscal 2014 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funds, and fiscal 2014 other procurement (Navy) contract funds in the amount of $19,571,552, will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
