Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER), Lexington, Massachusetts, has been awarded a $21,559,320 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research and development. This contract will provide for comprehensive, next-generation space environment model development, verification and validation, space environment related product development support, and design/prototyping of advanced space weather sensors. Work will be performed in Lexington, Massachusetts; and Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, and is expected to be complete by July 1, 2024.
