Title
Quantum-Resistant Encryption for Communications in Special USAF Missions (AFGSC)
Abstract
Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) has a mission critical need for an advanced, quantum-resilient, and integrated set of enterprise security products and services designed to provide the highest level of security against quantum attacks. When quantum computers are powerful enough, they will render data and systems using current public key encryption transparent to our adversaries. The scope of work associated with this proposal is designed to 1) integrate a commercially-developed post-quantum cryptography (PQC) orchestration capability (QuProtect) with the computer network belonging to the Innovation and Integration Lab (I2L) funded by AFRL and Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), and then 2) extend the PQC orchestration capability to B-52/AgilePod mission systems. During each phase of activity, the performance of the PQC software shall be characterized and documented for reporting to the AFGSC TPOC. A QuProtect user handbook will also be developed and delivered along with a ruggedized Dell TXR-4000 server to ensure continued AFGSC/I2L PQC orchestration capability following the conclusion of this 12-month effort.
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II.
