Luxium Solutions LLC, Milford, New Hampshire, was awarded $8,520,000 firm-fixed-price contract for research and development for edge-defined film-fed growth of β-phase gallium oxide substrates for high power electronics. The contract provides for commercialization of two-inch miscut wafers, development of a manufacturing process for four-inch wafers, characterization of the wafers utilizing epitaxial layers, and implementation of epitaxial growth on wafers. Work will be performed at Milford, New Hampshire and is expected to be completed by Oct. 3, 2028. The contract was a competitive acquisition and one offer was received. Fiscal 2024 research and development funds in the amount of $8,520,000 are being obligated at the time of award.
