Government Description
Population Assessment Of Tobacco and Health (PATH) study period of performance: 02/01/2024-01/31/2029. The PATH study is a national longitudinal cohort study designed to collect, analyze, and disseminate behavioral and biospecimen data on tobacco use patterns, attitudes, exposures, and related health outcomes among a nationally representative sample of youth and adults. Key tasks include biennial behavioral data collection, biospecimen collection and analysis, development and implementation of sampling and data collection protocols, creation of analytic datasets, and conducting formative and nested studies to inform FDA regulatory activities under the Family Smoking Prevention And Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA). The study aims to produce national-level estimates, assess within- and between-person changes in tobacco use behaviors and health conditions over time, and ensure high response rates and data quality across multiple waves.
