Directed Energy Technology Experimentation Research (DETER) Advanced Research Announcement (ARA) Virtual Briefing for Industry (BFI) Days 2021

Introduction

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Directed Energy Directorate (RD), will host Virtual Briefing for Industry Days on 13 and 14 April 2021 (10:00 - 12:00 MST). The Virtual BFI will provide an overview of the DETER ARA which will support AFRL/RD in its mission to equip the joint warfighter with next-generation technologies, advanced concepts and weapon system options across all operational domains to become more agile and increase the commercialization potential of directed energy investments to ensure the National Defense.

Objective

The objective of the Virtual BFI is to provide the Government contracting and academia communities an overview of the ARA structure and the acquisition authorities provided by 10 U.S.C. 2373. It provides a forum for industry and academia to gain knowledge and insights into the DETER ARA. In addition, the Virtual BFI will offer ample opportunities to communicate directly with the presenters through a live group Question & Answer (Q&A) session and then separate breakout sessions for each RD Technical Division. The BFI is an excellent opportunity for the Government and Industry partners to meet, enhance awareness, and gain further understanding of the opportunities offered under the DETER ARA.

Registration

To register for the Virtual BFI the following is required:

1. All interested parties MUST complete the registration form (Attachment 1) and return it to the AFRL.DETER.ARA@us.af.mil no later than 07 April 2021. Contractors must be U.S. citizens.
