Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of fulfilling a critical need within its healthcare facilities. This initiative aims to ensure the safety and reliability of Medical Gas Systems across all facilities under the Western States Network Consortium (WSNC). The overarching goal of this contract is to maintain high standards for medical gas delivery systems, which are essential for patient care and safety within VA hospitals and clinics.

The contract requires an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) holder to provide comprehensive services that include the annual inspection, testing, and certification of various medical gas systems. These systems comprise piped Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Nitrogen, Medical Air, Dental Air, Medical Vacuum, Dental Vacuum, and Evacuation/Waste Anesthetic Gas Disposal (WAGD) Systems. The contractor will be responsible for generating detailed reports on their findings and undertaking necessary remediation or repairs to address any issues identified during inspections. Furthermore, they must offer service calls for maintaining optimal system performance and manage system shutdowns or standbys as needed by the government.

All VA Healthcare Administration (VHA) facilities within the WSNC are authorized to procure services listed on the Price/Cost Schedule from this IDIQ contract. However, no options outside this schedule may be ordered unless they have been added through a formal modification by the administering Contracting Officer (CO). Importantly, this IDIQ does not obligate funds upfront; financial commitments are only made through authorized Task Orders issued under the agreement.

The contract spans five years from its award date and includes an annual review by the CO to evaluate whether continuing with its performance aligns with governmental interests. Authorized Contracting Officers within WSNC can place orders against this IDIQ using various communication methods such as email or electronic data interchange. Additionally, there are purchase limitations where individual Task Orders cannot exceed $500,000 each while maintaining a total price ceiling of $6.5 million over the agreement's lifespan.
