Description

The General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the United States Air Force (USAF), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing Contractor Operated Hardware Store (COHS) storefront services. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure efficient and effective management of hardware store operations at several key military locations, including Kadena Air Base, Camp Foster, Camp Kinser, and Camp Courtney. The overarching goal is to enhance the availability and accessibility of essential hardware supplies for government employees and Military Family Housing residents.

The work requested involves the provision of qualified personnel to operate COHS storefronts during standard duty hours. The contractor will be responsible for a range of services that include customer assistance, such as locating products, processing transactions, and offering product recommendations. Additionally, staff will issue government-owned property to authorized personnel while ensuring that all materials remain government-owned on the shelves. It is important to note that this requirement does not involve purchasing any stock; rather, it focuses on managing existing inventory effectively.

Moreover, the contractor will be tasked with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment. Coordination with the 718th CES/CELM staff will be crucial to ensure that products are available in a timely manner to meet customer needs. Storefront operations are expected to run from 07:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Through this solicitation, GSA aims to gather information from interested vendors who can provide these essential services while meeting the high standards expected by the USAF.
