Description

The Department of the Treasury, in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is undertaking a market research initiative to enhance its financial management capabilities through an effective Separating Employee/Contractor Clearance (SEC) process. This effort aims to ensure that all IT equipment used by departing employees and contractors is properly returned, documented within IRS systems, and either repurposed or disposed of securely. The SEC process encompasses not only regular employees but also contractors, summer interns, and student volunteers who are departing from their roles.

The primary objective outlined in the Performance Work Statement is to engage four Computer Technician Mid contractors who will support the activities associated with the SEC process. These activities are managed by Information Technology's User and Network Services (UNS), Operations Service Support (OSS), and Asset Management (AM) divisions. The selected contractors will play a critical role in ensuring that IRS assets are efficiently managed during the separation process, thereby safeguarding organizational resources and maintaining operational integrity.

The scope of work for this task order involves providing comprehensive support to the Operation Service and Support organization. Contractors will be tasked with managing IT asset returns, documenting these assets within IRS systems, and coordinating service disconnections for all separating personnel. The work requires technical competence and experience in using various systems and tools such as ServiceNow, Asset Manager, SharePoint, MS Office, and HRConnect Manager/Proxy Guide. Contractors must demonstrate proficiency through certifications like CompTIA+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician or System Administrator credentials, or relevant degrees coupled with practical experience in IT-related fields.

To ensure a successful partnership, contractor staff must exhibit strong inventory management skills using Microsoft Office products along with clear communication abilities both orally and in writing. Customer service skills are also essential to facilitate smooth interactions throughout the clearance process. By engaging qualified contractors with recognized expertise in these areas, the Department of Treasury aims to streamline its SEC operations effectively while upholding high standards of accountability for its IT assets.
