Background
The Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) is issuing a sole source contract to Motorola Solutions Inc. (MSI) for the modernization of the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system at Fort Huachuca.

The Product Director Base Emergency Communications System (PD BECS) is responsible for acquiring, managing, and delivering non-tactical LMR systems that are essential for public safety and base operations across U.S. Army Installations/Depots/Activities worldwide. The current LMR system at Fort Huachuca is outdated and requires modernization to enhance interoperability and performance, directly supporting emergency communications for first responders and other garrison organizations.

Work Details
The contract will involve the provision of a stand-alone LMR system that integrates with the Army CONUS Enterprise (ACE) LMR system architecture. The modernization effort includes subscriber devices such as portable, mobile, and desktop radios, as well as system infrastructure components like towers, repeaters, antennas, dispatch consoles, management terminals, and logging recorders.

The legacy LMR equipment is nearing end-of-life and must be updated with current technology to ensure operational effectiveness. The procurement will obligate FY24 Other Procurement, Army (OPA) dollars and consists of a twenty-four (24) month base period with no option years.
