Background
Flandreau Indian School (FIS) operates under the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Education, serving approximately 100 Native American and Alaska Native high school students from 48 different tribes. The school provides a safe and nurturing environment for students to earn their high school diplomas while addressing various challenges such as trauma, substance misuse, and behavioral issues.

The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive mental health and addiction services tailored to the unique needs of these students.

Work Details
The contractor will provide qualified personnel and necessary supplies to perform counseling services. Responsibilities include:

- Providing onsite individual and group counseling sessions addressing issues like substance misuse, PTSD, depression, and anxiety;
- Maintaining accurate case notes;
- Assisting with program planning;
- Networking with internal and external resources;
- Attending meetings;
- Assisting with student placements in inpatient facilities;
- Participating in case consultations;
- Completing electronic documentation on the date of service;
- Submitting quarterly reports detailing services provided;
- Collaborating with fellow counselors;
- Ensuring professional conduct;
- Respecting student rights;
- Complying with agency policies and regulations;
- Demonstrating sensitivity to cross-cultural diversity;
- Reporting to security upon entering/exiting the facility.

Period of Performance
Base Year: 08/01/2024 – 07/31/2025; Option Year 1: 08/01/2025 – 07/31/2026; Option Year 2: 08/01/2026 – 07/31/2027; Option Year 3: 08/01/2027 – 07/31/2028; Option Year 4: 08/01/2028 – 07/31/2029.
