NREL S&TF - Cleanroom LPCVD Tool Installation

Background
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is a national laboratory owned by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and is dedicated to research, development, commercialization, and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

NREL's Silicon Materials team is adding a 3-stack horizontal tube diffusion furnace into the Science and Technology Facility (S&TF) at NREL’s South Table Mountain campus in Golden, CO. This project aims to enhance research capabilities while maintaining operational efficiency within the cleanroom environment.

Work Details
The construction tasks under this contract include:

- Modification of specialty ductwork in the S&TF Cleanroom to support the installation of a new Tempress Diffusion Furnace.
- Modifications to mechanical and electrical systems in the S&TF Cleanroom for new or relocated lab equipment.
- Modifications to ductwork and ammonia scrubber systems for a new ammonia abatement cabinet.
- Provision of gas detection for lab gases in the S&TF Cleanroom and mezzanine.
- Provision of electrical power to all new and relocated equipment as required.

The project also requires demonstrated construction experience in a cleanroom support chase environment, management of multiple trades in an operating research laboratory, excellent project planning skills, knowledge of Procore construction software and Microsoft Project scheduling software, and experience with federal contracts.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at NREL’s South Table Mountain campus in Golden, Colorado.
