Navy - Uniform Rental and Laundry Services - MRAS

The General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the U.S. Navy, is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing comprehensive uniform rental and laundry services. This initiative is pivotal for the Navy's operational efficiency, ensuring that personnel have access to high-quality, clean, and well-maintained uniforms at all times. The contract aims to streamline the supply and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and non-PPE apparel across various departments, including Facilities Management & Services (FM&S), Mechanical Utilities, Transportation, and Pest Control.

The scope of work involves renting a specified inventory of uniforms that include both fire retardant (FR) and non-FR clothing. The contractor will be responsible for providing 11 shirts, 11 pants, and 3 coveralls annually per employee, with specific requirements for arc-rated clothing having a minimum arc rating of 8 cal/cm2. Additionally, pest control personnel require fifteen complete uniform sets annually. The contractor must ensure that all apparel bears the NAVFAC SW logo and other identifying marks as specified by the Navy.

In addition to rental services, the contract requires weekly laundry services to maintain uniforms in a clean and ready-to-wear condition. This includes performing necessary repairs such as replacing missing buttons or broken zippers at no additional cost during laundering or cleaning processes. The contractor must also accommodate inventory fluctuations up to ten percent above total inventory levels without compromising service quality.

Furthermore, the contractor is tasked with handling new orders for replacement garments or new employee uniforms within three weeks from the request date. All garments provided must meet rigorous standards for durability suitable for institutional use while ensuring proper fit through professional alterations as needed. Through this solicitation process, GSA seeks qualified vendors who can consistently deliver high-quality services that meet these comprehensive requirements.
