The Marine Design Center (MDC) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has issued this
Invitation for Bid (IFB) to acquire four new welded steel revetment barges. The barges' primary
mission will be to support the Mat Sinking Unit and the Vicksburg District's existing fleet of
revetment barges. The barges will accommodate two rows of mat stacks, 23 on the bottom and 22
on top. Each stack shall comprise 14 squares at approximately 3,400 lbs. per square.
PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS

The principal dimensions of each barge shall be as follows:
Length (Molded) 160'- 0"
Beam (Molded) 36'- 0"
Depth (Molded at Centerline) 11'-0
Bow Raked
Stern Raked
Sheer Forward 10' and aft 10'
Camber None

The Government requires completion and delivery of the (CLINs
0001-0004) under this contract to be made within 490 calendar days after issuance of the
Notice to Proceed of CLINs 0001-0004 by the Contracting Officer. This includes the 15
calendar days between each Phase of Work for MDC review of Submittals as outlined in
Section H).

The NAICS Code for this project will 336611 Ship Building and Repairing and the small business size standard is 1,300 employees.

Solicitation documents, plans and specifications will only be available via the SAM.gov homepage located at https://www.sam.gov. No hard copies will not be available. It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor https://www.sam.gov for issuance of the solicitation and monitoring of any amendments once the solicitation is issued. The solicitation will contain FAR provision 52.204-7; therefore, a bidder must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award.

Background
The Marine Design Center (MDC) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has issued this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to acquire four new welded steel revetment barges. This contract aims to enhance operational capabilities in riverine environments.

Work Details
The contractor is required to manufacture and deliver four welded steel revetment barges with the following specifications:
- Length (Molded): 160'-0"
- Beam (Molded): 36'-0"
- Depth (Molded at Centerline): 11'-0"
- Bow: Raked
- Stern: Raked
- Sheer Forward: 10’ and Aft: 10’
- Camber: None

Each barge will accommodate two rows of mat stacks, with 23 on the bottom and 22 on top, where each stack comprises 14 squares at approximately 3,400 lbs. per square. The contractor must also provide engineering services for design, fabrication, testing of barge-related equipment, and obtain ABS Class certification for the barges. Final delivery will be made to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at 4155 Clay Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
