The purpose of Amendment (P0005) is to publish an extension to the bid due date and virtual bid opening date. Also, to clarification to the RFI in reference to the drawings. This Solicitation announcement of the Department of Veterans Affairs Invitation for Bids (IFB) on Project #558-18-208; Renovate Dialysis Project at the Durham VAMC. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, tools, labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to renovate approximately 2,400 square feet of 3rd floor Dialysis Suite within the existing medical center. The work is to be accomplished in a single phase. The work includes selective demolition, general construction, and alterations (including necessary removal of existing finishes, millwork, and certain other items). Work includes all labor, material, equipment, and supervision to perform the required demolition and construction work on this project including Architectural Modifications, Plumbing Systems and Electrical Systems as described in the Specifications and indicated on the Construction Documents. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications, and drawings of the solicitation (when available) and all applicable local and VA building codes. Work is scheduled to be performed during the normal daytime business hours of the medical center excluding federal holidays. All activities that affect patient care will be completed outside normal work hours. Deviations from normal working hours must be approved in writing from the Contracting Officer no less than 72 hours in advance. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard of $39.5 million. The magnitude of this construction project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract within 120 days from bid opening date. This acquisition is a 100% set-aside for qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). Only offers from verified SDVOSBs registered in the Vendor Information Pages (VIP) database (https://vetbiz.va.gov) at the time of bid submission are eligible for consideration. Electronic email submissions only, no hard copy submissions will be considered. As authorized by FAR 5.102, solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and the VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download from https://sam.gov. Contract Opportunities website is the only official location to obtain solicitation information and documents. A bidders list is not maintained. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and acknowledging any amendments and should monitor the Contract Opportunities website for any changes to this announcement or pending solicitation.
