INDUSTRY DAY - Chief Joseph Dam Exciter Units 1 16 Replacement

LOCATION:

USACE Chief Joseph Dam

Hwy 17 and Pearl Hill Road

Bridgeport, WA 98813

DATE: 15 November 2023

TIME: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm

The United States Army Corps of Engineers - Seattle District (NWS) is hosting an Industry Day on 15 November 2023 to provide additional information on an upcoming requirement for a large civil works project valued between $10,000,000 to 25,000,000 to install and commission sixteen excitation units at Chief Joseph Dam. This scheduled Industry Day is open to both large and small business categories and will provide the only opportunity for a site visit to get an overview of the Chief Joseph Dam. Due to site security another opportunity will not be available until the solicitation period.

Please advise the Contract Specialist, Monique Paano (Monique.A.Paano@usace.army.mil) and Project Manager Mamie Brouwer (Mamie.S.Brouwer@usace.army.mil) of your plan to attend the Industry Day by submitting the Site Visit Required Security Information/Request for Attendance via email no later than 30 September 2023 at 3:00 PM Pacific Time. Late respondents, those not pre-registered, or those not providing the correct information will not be granted access to the site. Participation is limited to three representatives from each interested entity.

The Government Project Team requests Industry input on the following issues.

  1. Please explain how the global chip shortage and other supply chain issues would likely impact the contract period of performance (currently 36 months).
  2. Please describe your company's service engineering onsite support capabilities and response time when needed.
  3. Please describe the functions your company would self-perform.

ATTENDING THE INDUSTRY DAY IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SINCE IT IS UNLIKELY THAT AN ADDITIONAL SITE VISIT WILL BE OFFERED. The industry day is open to the vendor community of prime contractors and significant subcontractors who plan to submit a proposal on the forthcoming sixteen excitation unit replacement solicitation.

The Industry Day Event will take place from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. At Chief Joseph Dam,

Hwy 17 and Pearl Hill Road, Bridgeport, WA 98813.

If you are a significant subcontractor, you must indicate in your RSVP questionnaire response, what firm you are partnering with to bid the work to gain access to the site.

Please ensure you bring your official Government picture identification to present to Security to gain entry to the site and powerhouse. Required personal protective equipment for the site visit includes hard hat, safety vest, and boots/safety shoes. This is mandatory. If you attend and do not have all required documents or equipment, you will not be granted access to the site.

In-processing begins for all Vendors at the main entrance. When you approach the gate, press the call button, then stop at the first guard shack (if occupied), state the nature of the visit, proceed as directed to the second guard shack to present your government-issued identification and where your vehicle will be searched. You MUST present photo identification and state that you are attending the CJ Exciter Units 1 16 Replacement Industry Day . Your name will be checked against the pre-registered attendees' list and you will then be directed to drive to the Commons Building where you will park your vehicle. We'll meet in the conference room for introductions, project overview by the lead designer, and brief question and answer period before the powerhouse safety briefing. Following the presentation CJ and the CJ Resident Engineer's Office will provide instructions for caravanning to the Powerhouse. Your safety gear will be inspected before entry into the powerhouse. Small groups might shuttle to and from the powerhouse in Government vehicles depending on the number attending. Additional instructions and event agenda will be emailed to participants approximately three working days before the event.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Monique Paano, Contract Specialist at: monique.a.paano@usace.army.mil.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to your participation!
