Description

The General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is conducting market research to support the National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP). This initiative aims to enhance public health and safety by eliminating, preventing, and controlling diseases such as HIV, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and tuberculosis. As part of its mission, the NCHHSTP coordinates various programs that require the involvement of external experts who contribute through panel discussions and presentations.

The contract in question seeks to provide administrative support for honorarium payments to peer review panel members and speakers participating in events organized by NCHHSTP. These events include the Extramural Research Program Office's (ERPO) peer review panels for infectious disease research grant applications, as well as initiatives like the Health Equity Speaker Series coordinated by the Offices of Health Equity within the Division of HIV Prevention. The series serves as a platform for both internal and external partners to present innovative research findings focused on health equity.

In addition to supporting ERPO activities, this contract will facilitate honorarium payments for speakers involved with the Behavioral and Social Science Working Group's webinars and annual awards ceremonies. This group consists of social and behavioral scientists working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), furthering collaboration across scientific disciplines. By ensuring timely compensation for contributors to these critical discussions, the contract supports NCHHSTP's broader goals of fostering knowledge sharing and achieving scientific objectives.

The scope of work under this contract involves processing honorarium payments efficiently while maintaining regular communication with CDC staff through emails and teleconferences. The contractor will be responsible for organizing meetings related to payment coordination, preparing reports on payment status, ensuring payments are made within 30 days post-event completion, and verifying receipt with monthly updates provided to CDC. Through these tasks, the contractor will play an essential role in supporting NCHHSTP's efforts toward public health advancement.
